Substitution and Elimination
SN1 -
A Nucleophilic Substitution in which the Rate Determining Step involves 1 component.
SN2 -
A Nucleophilic Substitution in which the Rate Determining Step involves 2 components.
E1 -
A Nucleophilic Elimination in which the Rate Determining Step involves 1 component.
E2 -
A Nucleophilic Elimination in which the Rate Determining Step involves 2 components.
E1cB - A Nucleophilic Elimination in which the Rate Determining Step involves 1 component, but elimination occurs from the conjugate base of the starting material. The first step of this reaction forms the conjugate base by deprotonation.
